Dear Parents and Carers,
As part of our ongoing communication, we wanted to provide an update on how our pupils and staff are managing the heat this week.
We have continued to monitor temperatures both inside the classrooms and outdoors. The average temperature across the school is currently between 28°C and 30°C. This triggers our Enhanced+ Actions response, and many of our planned adjustments are already in place.
These measures include:
- Cancelling strenuous after-school clubs.
- Cancelling the school disco.
- Relocating classes to shaded areas (which means certain curriculum plans have been adapted).
Following discussions with fellow Headteachers in our cluster, the consensus is that schools will remain open to all children with these precautions firmly in place.
Additionally, our relaxed uniform rules remain in effect. Our site team is also closing classrooms down overnight and opening windows first thing in the morning, which is successfully reducing temperatures before the children arrive.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we work to keep everyone safe and comfortable.
