I just wanted to let you know about Basingstoke Discovery Centre’s free weekly ‘Books and Brunch’ scheme which is currently running to support families during COVID – please see the flyer attached for more information. This is to help families that might benefit from the scheme (entitled to free school meals or currently experiencing food insecurity). It is an enhanced part of Hampshire Libraries Ready Reads Click and Collect book borrowing scheme.
‘Books and Brunch’ gives children/families the opportunity to borrow up to 3 children’s books each week per child (selected by library staff), and to pick up one free brunch bag (per child) to take away with them, when they collect the books from the Discovery Centre. When they return the books the following week, they can collect another selection of children’s books and another brunch bag. It is open to children ages 4-11 years and the scheme can be joined online or via our Call Centre phone line.
