Eligible children and families are those accessing benefits-related free school meals. More information on eligibility can be found here: Hampshire Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) information.

This is the third summer of delivering the Holiday Activities and Food Programme. It is funded by the Department for Education to provide holiday schemes that provide healthy food and enriching activities to children who receive income-based free school meals during term time.  A small number of places are also available on HAF schemes for other vulnerable families.

The programme is administered by the Council and has grown to 140 schemes taking place across the whole of Hampshire this summer with schools, childcare providers, community groups and sports providers amongst those delivering activities.

Schemes are now open for bookings and we would like your help in providing information to parents so that they can book their eligible children on to free HAF holiday clubs over the upcoming summer holiday period.

We know that schools really understand which families are likely to be eligible and we would value you encouraging as many eligible families as possible to take part to provide the children and families support over the summer holidays.

Demand for places continues to grow and we anticipate this summer will continue this trend.  Where parents find HAF provision is booked up at a given venue, we are encouraging families to check other local alternatives, and / or leave their details on a waiting list to take advantage of any cancellations.
