We are pleased to confirm that the annual Summer Reading Challenge is returning to Hampshire Libraries next month. The Challenge, which supports children’s literacy during the summer holiday runs from Saturday 16 July until Saturday 17 September.

This year’s theme is Gadgeteers and the aim is to inspire young readers, aged 4-11, to enjoy learning about science and innovation – we are teaming up with the Winchester Science Centre to help fuel imaginations throughout the reading mission.

Families and carers can sign-up children online, or by visiting their closest Hampshire Library - it’s free to join the library and take part in the challenge. Every child who reads, listens to, or shares six books will receive a certificate and medal, and also be entered into a draw to win a Samsung Galaxy tablet .We warmly welcome schools’ support to promote the Summer Reading Challenge.

Parents will be able to find out more through Hampshire Libraries’ online Kids Zone from Saturday 16 Julyhttps://www.hants.gov.uk/librariesandarchives/kids-zone.
