Donation to the Camrose Centre in Basingstoke

Dear Parents, Carers and Friends of Castle Hill Primary School,

This morning Castle Hill Primary School welcomed volunteers from the Camrose Centre to speak to the children during our assembly.
The Camrose Centre is a drop-in centre for anyone who is sleeping rough, or who is homeless due to the effects of unemployment, mental and physical ill-health, poverty and social isolation. With a local group of volunteers, the Camrose Centre has been opening its doors since January 2008 helping the homeless and less fortunate people.
As part of the community, we would like to offer our help, especially leading up to the Christmas period and donate items that will help and support sofa surfers and people who are sleeping rough.

The Camrose Centre is asking for 30 shoe boxes, with a selection of items mostly for men but also for women as well. As this is not a huge amount compared to the size of our school, we would like to ask you for a small donation of any of the following items:

  • Cereal/breakfast bars
  • Chocolate
  • Mug shots/instant soups
  • Pot noodles
  • Deodorant
  • Face/baby wipes
  • Small flasks
  • Torch with batteries
  • Gloves/hats
  • Boxer shorts/knickers size S/M
  • An empty shoe box, wrapped in Christmas paper

With your donations we will assemble and fill the shoe boxes in school ready for collection. May we please ask for any donations to be brought into school by: Thursday, December 6th 2018.

Should we have more than the Camrose Centre needs after your donations, we will happily donate to other centres in Basingstoke that help and support vulnerable people. We would like to thank you in advance for your kind donations and hope that we can support those in the community during the Christmas holidays.
