Job/Person Summary
We are looking to appoint a friendly, calm and enthusiastic lunchtime supervisor to join our wonderful lunch team to support pupils’ enjoyment of their lunchtime. The successful candidates will be reliable and keen to support the school.

Duties will include:
• helping to organise children in the hall, classrooms and outside areas, encouraging good manners and supporting healthy eating
• supervising children and assisting with food consumption e.g. cutting food, opening cartons for children
• supervising, leading and engaging with children on the playground/classroom promoting positive play and listening to children
• supervision of pupils to ensure their safety and welfare
• assisting with toileting
• administrating basic first aid (training will be given)
• being aware of health and safety to ensure a safe environment for all
• promoting independence and positive behaviour at lunchtime
• assisting with associated duties (e.g. cleaning up spillages, ensuring pupil hygiene) The successful candidate will enjoy working with children and be keen and able to actively engage with them during playtime to promote positive play.

They will:
• be kind, caring, calm and a good listener
• be reliable, flexible, punctual and able to work as part of a team
• be prepared to administer basic first aid (and attend training for this)
• have an understanding and awareness of child behaviour
• be consistent in promoting high expectations of behaviour and the values of the school
• ensure the safety and welfare of children at all times
• support children whilst they eat their lunch and promote healthy eating
• actively engage with children to ensure that playtimes are enjoyable
• have a positive ‘can-do' attitude
• be a good communicator, a great team player and have a good sense of humour
• have the willingness to learn and are able to attend some occasional extra training when required
• understand confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.
